Iona Cottage is located approximately 6 miles from the World Heritage city of Bath. Bath is most famous for it's naturally occuring hot springs, whose waters are said to have healing powers. It is primarily for this reason that Bath has such a rich historical tradition, having been a populated area from pre-Roman times to the present day.
The Roman's were the first to harness the city's natural spring water, building a amazing suite of baths within a large temple complex. Rediscovered in 1880, this amazing archeological site has recently been renovated to provide unparralled access to the general public.
Although it is no longer possible to bathe in the original Roman site, 2006 saw the opening of the much awaited Thermae Spa complex; a throughly modern spa facility which offers visitors the opportunity to bathe in the only naturally heated spring waters in the UK.
Other attractions include the 500 year old Medieval Abbey, the Georgian splendor of the Royal Crescent, and Pulteney Bridge (one of only four bridges in the world with shops across the full span).
Woodside View stands high on the side of a classically beautiful South Devon valley, and yet only eight minutes drive from the centre of Dartmouth.
